Nigerian singer BNXN, formerly known as Buju, has revealed that his next focus in terms of personal branding is to enhance his physical appearance, stating that "all that's left for me to do is to get sexier."
The "Finesse" crooner made this declaration on Wednesday via his X (formerly Twitter) account, signaling a shift in his attention toward his looks after previously facing body-shaming from internet trolls.
BNXN's statement comes after a history of being targeted for his appearance. Last year, fellow Nigerian artist Ruger expressed regret for body-shaming BNXN during their social media feud in 2022, stating, "I feel bad that I body shamed BNXN, I regret it."
The two artists have since reconciled their differences and even collaborated on a project titled "R&B," demonstrating how they've moved past their previous conflict.
BNXN has been making significant strides in the Nigerian music industry since his breakthrough. His rebranding from Buju to BNXN and hit collaborations like "Finesse" with Pheelz have cemented his position as one of Nigeria's rising music stars.
The singer's focus on his physical appearance may be part of a broader strategy to enhance his public image and brand as he continues to grow in the competitive entertainment industry.
