Nigerian singer and rapper, Oladotun Alade, popularly known as Dotman, has expressed deep regret over his decision to relocate from Nigeria to the United States, citing personal struggles and family separation.

The "Star Life" crooner revealed in a heartfelt post on his Instagram page that he has been "struggling so much in silence" since moving abroad. Most painfully, he disclosed that he hasn't seen his children for approximately two years.

"Today, I regret ever deciding to leave Nigeria and move to the US. I have been struggling so much in silence. [I] haven't seen my kids for about two years now," Dotman wrote in his emotional social media post.

Growing Trend of Nigerian Celebrity Migration

BenriNews reports that Dotman's situation highlights a significant trend among Nigerian celebrities, with many relocating abroad over the past decade. Notable figures who have moved overseas include Asake, Eldee, Dr. Sid, Genevieve Nnaji, Omotola Jalade Ekeinde, Rita Dominic, Tacha, Uche Jombo, and Emeka Ike, among others.

While many celebrities relocate in search of better opportunities, expanded markets, or improved quality of life, Dotman's confession sheds light on the often-unseen challenges that come with such major life decisions, particularly the emotional toll of family separation.

The singer, known for hits like "Akube" and "Enugbe," has not yet shared whether he plans to return to Nigeria following this revelation.
