The Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has issued a stern warning to Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, urging him to "retrace his steps" as he foresees plans to unseat him from office.
The warning comes amid rumored tensions between the governor and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu that have recently made headlines in political circles.
Previous Prophecy Recalled
In a statement released through his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, Primate Ayodele claimed he had previously predicted the conflict between Tinubu and Sanwo-Olu at the beginning of the governor's second term, but his warnings were ignored.
"I had said Sanwo-Olu and Tinubu will fight. Sanwoolu's and Tinubu's fight hasn't started; if he isn't careful, he will be removed. I want to beg Tinubu not to allow them to remove him," Ayodele stated.
The spiritual leader emphasized the need for reconciliation to prevent what he described as a "disgraceful removal" from office, while also criticizing the state of elder statesmanship in Nigerian politics.
Call for Reconciliation
"I'm calling on Sanwo-Olu to reconcile to avoid being disgracefully removed. It's unfortunate that there are no elderly people in politics; they are all after what they would eat, and they don't arrange things. If there is no money, they don't do anything," he added.
Primate Ayodele advised the governor to remain calm and find solutions to the alleged rift with President Tinubu, warning that failure to address the situation could lead to serious political consequences.
"Sanwo-Olu needs to calm down, find a solution between you and your boss. It is not well, once you leave there you would realize people don't respect you, they are only with you because you are still there."
2026 Removal Warning
The cleric specifically mentioned 2026 as a critical year, cautioning Sanwo-Olu against listening to advisers encouraging him to take a strong stance in the alleged dispute.
"I want to urge you to ignore anyone advising you to be strong-hearted, if you are not careful, they will remove you in 2026. Prayers will not be able to save you then if you don't retrace your steps," Ayodele warned.
Neither Governor Sanwo-Olu nor President Tinubu has publicly addressed the rumored tensions between them as of the time of this report.
