Senator Muhammad Adamu Aliero, former governor of Kebbi State and current senator representing Kebbi Central, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to Muslims in Kebbi State and across Nigeria as they celebrate Eid-el-Adha.
In his festive message, Senator Aliero emphasized the importance of upholding the core values that Eid-el-Adha represents – sacrifice, compassion, and unity. He called on the faithful to embrace these principles not just during the celebration but in their daily lives.
Call for Peaceful Coexistence
The senator specifically urged citizens to promote peaceful coexistence and mutual respect among all Nigerians regardless of religious or ethnic backgrounds. He also highlighted the importance of extending care and support to the less privileged members of society, particularly during this festive period.
"This celebration reminds us of the virtues of sacrifice and submission to the will of Allah as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (AS)," Senator Aliero stated. "These values are essential for building a harmonious and progressive society."
Prayers for National Progress
In his message, the former governor also offered prayers for continued peace, progress, and prosperity in Kebbi State and Nigeria as a whole. He encouraged citizens to reflect deeply on the spirit of obedience and dedication demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim (AS), noting that these qualities remain relevant in addressing contemporary challenges.
The senator's message comes as Muslims across Nigeria prepare to mark one of Islam's most significant festivals, characterized by prayer, animal sacrifice, charity, and family gatherings.
Eid-el-Adha, also known as the Festival of Sacrifice, commemorates Prophet Ibrahim's willingness to sacrifice his son in obedience to Allah's command, only for Allah to provide a ram as a replacement at the last moment.
