Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, has called on Muslim faithful to embrace and extend the lessons of sacrifice, charity, and love to their neighbors, brothers, and friends regardless of political, religious, or cultural differences as they celebrate Eid-el-Kabir.

The Governor made this appeal in his Sallah message delivered through his Media Aide, Mamman Mohammed, as Muslims across Nigeria observe the annual festival commemorating Prophet Ibrahim's willingness to sacrifice his son in obedience to Allah.

Commitment to State Development

While felicitating with the faithful on the occasion, Governor Buni assured residents of increased government support for security, agriculture, and infrastructural development across Yobe State.

"We should continue to cooperate and support the security agencies with credible and timely information to promote proactive approach to collectively fight against insecurity," he advised.

The Governor also commended officers and men of the Nigerian Army and other security agencies, as well as vigilante and hunter groups, for their resilience and commitment toward improving security conditions in the state.

Agricultural Engagement

With the rainy season underway, Buni urged citizens to take advantage of favorable conditions by engaging massively in agriculture to enhance food security and economic prosperity in the state.

This call comes at a critical time when Nigeria faces significant food security challenges, making agricultural productivity particularly important for states like Yobe.

The Eid-el-Kabir celebration, also known as the Festival of Sacrifice, is one of Islam's most significant observances, marked by prayer, family gatherings, charitable giving, and the sacrifice of animals.
