"While I cannot question or fault the governor's personal decision, I am unable to join in that sojourn. Governor's Defection and Ultimatum

Governor Eno Umo officially abandoned the PDP for the APC on Friday, in a move that has sent ripples through Akwa Ibom's political landscape. Prior to his defection, the governor had issued an ultimatum to members of his cabinet, instructing those unwilling to follow him to the ruling party to resign from their positions.

In explaining his defection, Governor Umo reportedly stated, "I can't profess love for Tinubu without joining his party," suggesting his move was motivated by alignment with the federal government led by President Bola Tinubu.

Ememobong's resignation marks a significant development in Akwa Ibom politics, highlighting the tensions that often arise when elected officials switch political affiliations mid-term.
