The Yobe State Police Command has announced comprehensive security arrangements ahead of the upcoming Eid-el-Kabir celebrations in the state. This development follows a high-level security conference convened by Commissioner of Police Emmanuel with all Divisional Police Officers, Tactical Commanders, Heads of Departments, and the command's management team.

According to a statement released by Police Public Relations Officer, SP Dungus Abdulkarim, the command has established robust surveillance measures to ensure peaceful festivities across the state.

Community Collaboration for Sustained Peace

During the conference, CP Emmanuel emphasized the command's dedication to working closely with community members to maintain the relative peace currently enjoyed in Yobe State. He urged the public to use the Sallah occasion as an opportunity to pray for continued success in the ongoing fight against crime and insurgency-related matters.

The command specifically addressed motorists and road users, cautioning against reckless and dangerous driving during the festive period. "The command will strictly enforce law and order, and criminal-minded individuals are warned to desist from carrying dangerous objects in public gatherings and recreational centers," the statement warned.

Strategic Deployment of Security Personnel

In preparation for the celebrations, the police have deployed security assets and personnel to strategic locations including praying grounds, recreational centers, and children's play areas. The statement confirmed that security operatives will remain on high alert to prevent any disruptions from mischief makers and to counter the spread of fake news.

The command has also encouraged members of the public to be vigilant and report any suspicious movements or activities to the nearest police station or security formation for prompt action.

This security initiative aligns with similar measures being implemented across other states as Nigeria prepares for the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations, reflecting a nationwide commitment to ensuring peaceful festivities.
