Former Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, has extended warm greetings to Nigerian pilgrims gathered on the plains of Arafat and Muslims worldwide as they observe this significant day in the Islamic calendar.
The 9th of Dhul-Hijjah, known as the Day of Arafat, represents the pinnacle of the Hajj pilgrimage and is considered a time for profound spiritual reflection and supplication.
Call for National Prayers
In his message, Malami encouraged pilgrims to utilize this sacred moment not only for personal supplications but also to pray fervently for peace, unity, and progress across Nigeria. The former Justice Minister emphasized the importance of collective prayers during this auspicious occasion.
"This blessed day offers a unique opportunity for our pilgrims to raise their hands in prayer for our nation's stability and harmony," Malami stated.
Recommitment to Islamic Values
The former Attorney General also called on all Muslims to renew their commitment to the fundamental values taught by Islam, including sincerity, humility, justice, and compassion. He stressed that these principles are essential for both personal development and national cohesion.
Malami concluded his message with prayers for the acceptance of worship and forgiveness of shortcomings, extending his wishes for blessings upon the entire Muslim Ummah during this holy period.
The Day of Arafat precedes Eid-el-Kabir (Eid al-Adha), one of Islam's most important festivals, which commemorates Prophet Ibrahim's willingness to sacrifice his son in obedience to Allah's command.
