The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Bauchi State has launched a special operation for the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations, deploying 820 personnel to ensure road safety throughout the festive period.

Bauchi Sector Commander, Mr. Istifanus Ibrahim, revealed this information during an interview on Thursday, stating that the deployed workforce includes both regular and special marshals strategically positioned across major roads and prayer grounds.

Comprehensive Safety Measures

The operation, officially named 'Operation Eid-el-Kabir,' commenced on Thursday, June 5, and will continue until Wednesday, June 11, 2025. To support this initiative, the command has mobilized significant resources including 18 patrol vehicles, six tow trucks, and five ambulances.

"The command is committed to ensuring zero road traffic crashes, prompt response to road obstructions, and maintaining a free flow of traffic, especially with the expected increase in human and vehicular movement during the Sallah period," Ibrahim emphasized.

Public Awareness and Enforcement

Beyond physical deployment, the FRSC plans to conduct mobile court sittings to enhance compliance with traffic regulations. Additionally, public sensitization campaigns will be carried out across motor parks, places of worship, and through various media channels.

These comprehensive measures aim to address the typically increased traffic volume during the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations, when many travelers return to their hometowns or visit family members.

The FRSC's proactive approach reflects its dedication to preventing accidents and ensuring that celebrants can enjoy the festivities without road safety concerns.
