All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders in Anambra State have expressed strong confidence that the party will soon end the dominance of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the state, particularly in the upcoming November 8 gubernatorial election.
During a Thanksgiving Mass held in Onitsha for Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu, the APC governorship candidate, party stalwarts urged Anambra residents to remain patient and hopeful as they prepare to bid farewell to Governor Chukwuma Soludo's APGA administration.
APC Leaders Express Disappointment with APGA's Performance
State Chairman of APC, Chief Basil Ejidike; Chairman of the APC Reconciliation Committee, Engr. John Bosco Onunkwo; National Coordinator of Ikemba Front, Hon. Arinzechukwu Awogu; and party stalwart Chief Felix Unigwe all voiced their dissatisfaction with APGA's governance record.
The APC leaders claimed they have watched APGA's performance over the years with disappointment and are now determined to replace the party to renew hope for Anambra citizens by implementing a revitalized agenda.
According to them, APGA has repeatedly exploited the legacy of Ojukwu during election cycles to gain voter support, only to disappoint the electorate afterward. The APC has vowed to break this pattern.
Strong Ticket and Mainstream Connection
Chief Ejidike emphasized the APC's desire to reconnect Anambra with the national mainstream, citing what he described as the non-performance of the Soludo administration as justification.
Engineer Onunkwo described the Ukachukwu-Ekwunife ticket as a strong and cohesive alliance that will significantly boost APC's chances of victory in the upcoming election.
Hon. Awogu expressed optimism that the Ikemba Front, which he coordinates, will strengthen the party's position in the election, further enhancing their prospects of success.
Clarification on Presidential Endorsement
Chief Unigwe took the opportunity to dismiss rumors that President Bola Tinubu had endorsed Governor Soludo during his recent visit to Anambra State.
"Tinubu did not endorse Soludo. He only called him a friend and a thinker," Unigwe clarified, addressing speculation about presidential support for the incumbent governor.
The November 8 gubernatorial election is shaping up to be a significant contest between the ruling APGA and a reinvigorated APC, with both parties intensifying their campaigns across the state.
