APC chieftain Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze has challenged the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, to formally join the All Progressives Congress (APC) if he truly believes he is a political asset.

The challenge comes in response to Wike's recent media criticism of former Transportation Minister Chibuike Amaechi, who had complained about hunger resulting from the Tinubu administration's economic policies during his 60th birthday celebration.

In a statement released in Port Harcourt, Eze questioned President Tinubu's democratic credentials, suggesting he should have rejected electoral results from Rivers State. "The fact remains that if Tinubu is a clean democrat he would have rejected the results of his so-called electoral success in Rivers State knowing very well that Wike succeeded to rubbish all he has assumed to have earned as a democrat," Eze stated.

Accusations of Political Betrayal

The APC chieftain accused Wike of political inconsistency and betrayal, describing him as having "one leg in PDP and one in APC." He further characterized the FCT Minister as "a reservoir of blackmail, greed, envy and ingratitude."

"You betrayed and destroyed a party that made you what you claim to be today, and now singing the praises of Tinubu and APC. You want to reap where you did not sow," Eze said, adding that prominent APC figures like Akpabio, Uzodimma, Umahi, and Oshiomhole "are waiting for him in APC."

Eze contrasted Wike with Amaechi, describing the latter as "refined, not habitually arrogant and treacherous," while claiming Wike is "suffering from dementia" due to the "burden of morality, blackmail, betrayal, and backstabbing."

Electoral Conduct Questioned

The statement also addressed Wike's role in the 2023 Presidential election, with Eze criticizing Nigeria's security architecture for allowing someone to "claim credit of electoral fraud and go free."

"Yes, you may not be hungry with the level of public looting associated with you, but Nigerians know Wike has contributed to 75% hunger in Nigeria today through his support to the Tinubu's administration that has brought hunger to the entire nation," Eze alleged.

Despite his criticisms, Eze thanked Wike for "taking time to reel out Amaechi's political resumé in the past 23 years of purposeful service to humanity and Nigeria."

Presidential Aides Drawn Into Controversy

The APC chieftain also commented on reactions from presidential aide Olabamji Enitan Jowosimi and Wike's media assistant Lere Olayinka to Amaechi's statements. Eze claimed the two officials had "honestly acknowledged the president's incapacity to lead Nigeria" in their responses.

BenriNews previously reported that Jowosimi had criticized Amaechi, saying he "should be ashamed of himself for complaining after spending 23 years in government."

Eze concluded by saying, "One would have loved to see these young loons advance cogent reasons to the effect that Tinubu is not incapacitated. But the two angry birds resolved to haul invectives on a man who laboured alongside some elite progressives of like minds to midwife the formation of what is today called the APC."
