A nine-month pregnant woman has lost her life in a tragic case of domestic violence in Minna, Niger State. The incident, which occurred on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, has sent shockwaves through the Limawa community.
Hauwa Isah, 24, was allegedly beaten to death by her husband, Mohammed Sani, 31, at their residence in Bani Hashimu Estate, Limawa 'A' area of Minna. Police have arrested Sani, who is now in custody facing charges of culpable homicide.

Niger State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Wasiu Abiodun, confirmed the incident, stating that police received a distress call around 10:30 pm on the night of the incident. Officers from A Division Minna responded promptly to find Hauwa's lifeless body on the floor with blood stains in the room.
"She was rushed to General Hospital Minna where she was confirmed dead. Medical examination also confirmed that she was about nine months pregnant," SP Abiodun explained. He added that the case would soon be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Minna for further investigation.

Eyewitnesses from the community reported hearing distressing screams from the couple's residence late in the day. Halima Musa, a resident of the area, alleged that by the time neighbors intervened, Hauwa had already succumbed to her injuries.
