Al-Hilal are actively working to secure the signature of Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen this summer, with newly appointed manager Simone Inzaghi giving his explicit approval for the potential €75 million transfer.
Osimhen, who spent the previous season on loan at Turkish side Galatasaray, is set to return to his parent club Napoli. However, sources indicate the Super Eagles forward is expected to depart the Italian club permanently before the start of the next season.
According to renowned football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the Saudi Arabian giants have identified Osimhen as a priority target for their attacking lineup. "Victor Osimhen remains high on Al Hilal list as new striker with talks ongoing to bring in the Nigerian forward," Romano stated on social media platform X on Wednesday.
The striker's current contract with Napoli includes a release clause valued at approximately €75 million, which Al-Hilal appears willing to trigger. "€75m release clause available, Al Hilal are working on player side for a target now also approved by Simone Inzaghi," Romano added.
European Interest Remains Strong
Despite Al-Hilal's concrete interest, Osimhen continues to attract attention from several top European clubs. The 25-year-old Nigerian international has established himself as one of the most sought-after strikers in world football following his impressive performances for both club and country.
Former England international and Manchester United legend Paul Scholes recently suggested that his former club should consider signing Osimhen to bolster their attacking options. Meanwhile, Nigerian football icon Jay-Jay Okocha has publicly advised Osimhen regarding his potential summer move, emphasizing the importance of making strategic career decisions.
Galatasaray vice-president Yelkencioğlu has also commented on the situation, suggesting that financial considerations will likely play a significant role in determining Osimhen's next destination.
As the transfer saga unfolds, all eyes will be on whether the Nigerian striker opts for the lucrative offer from Saudi Arabia or chooses to continue his career in one of Europe's top leagues. With Al-Hilal's financial muscle and the backing of their new manager, they appear well-positioned to secure one of this summer's most high-profile transfers.
