The Zamfara Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has deployed 517 personnel and 16 operational vehicles to ensure a hitch-free Sallah celebration across the state.
According to a statement by the Command's Public Relations Officer, Isah Aliyu, strategic locations have been identified for comprehensive traffic regulation during the festive period.
Aliyu revealed that FRSC personnel have been stationed at various flash points to provide rescue services, clear obstructions, and enforce traffic regulations. "The command also provided three ambulances on standby to ensure prompt rescue of victims of road crashes," he stated.
Safety Advisory for Motorists
The Zamfara Sector Commander, Aliyu Ma'aji, has urged motorists to strictly adhere to traffic rules and regulations during the celebration period. He specifically cautioned against common causes of road accidents such as speeding, overloading, dangerous driving, and using mobile phones while behind the wheel.
Ma'aji emphasized the importance of cautious driving, noting that "only the living celebrate." He extended warm Eid-Kabir wishes to all residents of Zamfara State.
This deployment comes as Nigeria prepares for the Eid-Kabir celebration, with the Federal Government having declared June 6 and 9 as public holidays to mark the occasion.
The FRSC's proactive measures aim to minimize road accidents and ensure smooth traffic flow during what is typically a period of increased travel and movement across the state.
