Hon Inalagwu Ejembi Adaje, an aspirant for the Ado, Okpokwu, and Ogbadigbo Federal House of Representatives seat, has strongly condemned the recent brutal attacks in Benue State that resulted in the deaths of 23 innocent people.

The attacks, reportedly carried out by suspected herdsmen, claimed 12 lives in Apa Local Government Area and 11 others in Gwer West in what appears to be renewed violence in the region.

In a statement released on Tuesday, Adaje described the killings as "unacceptable" and "senseless," urging people worldwide to condemn such acts of violence. He called on security agencies to take immediate action to end these unprovoked attacks.

"One death too many. We need our security agencies to be on top of this issue and stop this senseless killing. My heart is with the entire people at this grieving period," Adaje stated.

The aspirant lawmaker extended his condolences to the families of the victims, praying that God would console them and grant them the fortitude to bear their loss.

Adaje also called on the Benue State Government to address the security challenges facing the state with greater urgency, emphasizing the need for immediate intervention to prevent further bloodshed.

This latest incident adds to the growing concern over security in Benue State, which has witnessed recurring attacks in recent years. Local communities have increasingly voiced their frustration over what they perceive as inadequate protection from security forces.

The killings come amid ongoing tensions between farming communities and herders in the region, with previous incidents having displaced thousands of residents from their ancestral homes.
