Pastor David Ibiyeomie of Salvation Ministries has issued stern warnings to bloggers, threatening to arrest and imprison those who publish or distort his messages, regardless of whether the coverage is positive or negative.
In a video circulating online, the prominent cleric expressed his frustration with what he described as deliberate misrepresentation of his statements by certain media outlets and bloggers.
"Don't carry my news. I don't want your news. You won't make me popular. Already I am talking to the world. Good or bad, don't carry my news," Ibiyeomie declared in the footage.
The pastor also made serious allegations against some members of his congregation, claiming they have been planted in his church to collect and twist his messages for bloggers.
"They plant you inside the church and instead of you listening to the message and get blessed, you now pick one thing and twist, say what I didn't say," he stated.
Ibiyeomie was unequivocal about his intended response to those who defy his warning, saying: "Me, I will arrest you, I will lock you up. I don't care. No man of God will pray for you and succeed."
He specifically addressed an unnamed young man in his warning, stating: "A young man, I know you. Your father won't beg me, I know your father too. Your mother won't beg me. I will deal with you."
The pastor appeared to anticipate criticism for his approach, acknowledging that people might question why a religious leader would "curse people" or use police to make arrests. However, he remained resolute in his position, describing his gospel as "before you slap, I slap you" and declaring, "I am not that kind of pastor. Young man, I will fight you."
This is not the first time Pastor Ibiyeomie has made headlines for controversial statements. He has previously made news for his comments on various topics including poverty, tithing, and his views on certain professions.
