Abakaliki FC have described their 1-0 defeat to Godswill Akpabio FC in the Nigeria National League (NNL) matchday 20 as a painful loss but remain optimistic about their survival chances.

Despite their precarious position, the Ebonyi-based club has maintained a positive outlook with two matches remaining in the season.

"A tough loss to Godswill Akpabio FC. Not really the desired result, but we give God all the glory," Abakaliki FC stated after the game. "All hope is not lost yet."
