Former Barcelona star Andres Iniesta has praised Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique following the French club's historic Champions League triumph against Inter Milan.

PSG secured their first-ever Champions League trophy with an emphatic 5-0 victory over Inter Milan at the Allianz Arena in Munich on Saturday, marking a significant milestone in the club's history.

In an interview published on Sky Sports yesterday, Iniesta, who shares a rich history with Enrique both as a teammate and player under his management at Barcelona, highlighted the coach's exceptional qualities.

"He is a special coach. I have known him as a team-mate and as a coach and he has a unique talent. He is an incredible worker," Iniesta remarked.

"He knows how to transmit his ideas to others, he knows how to convince. And he has very clear ideas about how he wants to play," the Spanish midfield legend added.

A Shared History of Success

The connection between Iniesta and Enrique runs deep. They were briefly teammates during the 2003-04 season at Barcelona, playing five games together with one joint goal contribution.

Their relationship evolved when Enrique returned to Barcelona as head coach, with Iniesta making 123 appearances under his management. During this period, Iniesta scored five goals and provided 17 assists.

Together, they were part of Barcelona's legendary treble-winning side in the 2014-15 season, a success that Enrique has now partially replicated with PSG's Champions League victory.

The dominant 5-0 scoreline in the final against Inter Milan demonstrates the effectiveness of Enrique's tactical approach and his ability to prepare his team for the biggest stage in European club football.

This triumph represents a significant achievement for PSG, who have long pursued Champions League glory as the missing piece in their trophy cabinet despite domestic dominance in France.
