Former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has suggested that Inter Milan's style of play contributed significantly to their heavy 5-0 defeat against Paris Saint-Germain in Saturday's UEFA Champions League final in Munich.

PSG claimed their first-ever Champions League trophy with a commanding performance that saw Desire Doue score twice, while Achraf Hakimi, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, and Senny Mayulu each added a goal to complete the rout.

Speaking on CBS Sports after the match, Wenger highlighted the significant gap in quality between the two sides.

"[PSG's win] was absolutely fantastic. The difference between the teams was too big," Wenger said. "On top of that, Inter, the way they played, they made it easier for [PSG]."

The French football icon also expressed his delight at seeing a French club lift the prestigious trophy, adding: "I am happy, of course, for French football."

Meanwhile, Inter Milan manager Simone Inzaghi acknowledged his team's poor performance against the French champions at the Allianz Arena, admitting they failed to play to their potential on the night.

The victory marks a historic achievement for PSG under Luis Enrique's leadership, finally securing the Champions League trophy that has eluded them despite years of heavy investment and previous near-misses in the competition.

Reports indicate that celebrations in Paris following the victory led to hundreds of arrests as fans took to the streets to mark the occasion.
