The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has called on political stakeholders to ensure transparency and inclusiveness in the ongoing coalition process, warning that the party will resist any attempts to hijack their platform against the interests of Nigerians.

In a statement signed by ADC National Chairman, Chief Ralphs Nwosu, the party cautioned coalition participants to remain vigilant, stressing that they would oppose entrenched interests seeking to derail their mission.

"Certain groups, having cornered public resources for personal gains, are expected to fight back to maintain their grip on power," Nwosu stated, highlighting the challenges ahead for the coalition movement.

Plans for Coalition Partners Meeting

The ADC chairman revealed plans to convene a meeting of all coalition partners to address emerging issues in their collective effort to rescue Nigeria from what he described as "nepotism, hunger, impunity, corruption, insecurity, insurgency, and poor governance."

Nwosu emphasized that the ADC would not operate as "business as usual" but as a national political force with a clear vision for Nigeria's future.

"Political ideology and a genuine vision of nationhood must go beyond mere slogans and entitlement mindsets typified by the 'it is my turn' narrative," he stated, adding that "the challenges facing Nigeria amount to a national emergency that demands unity and collective action."

Growing Membership Base

According to Nwosu, the coalition is gaining momentum with Nigerians from various political backgrounds, including those with no previous political affiliations, registering as new members of the movement.

The ADC's call for transparency comes amid increasing political realignments as Nigeria moves toward the 2027 general elections, with opposition parties exploring coalition options to present a united front against the ruling party.
