Nigerian singer Kizz Daniel has released his new EP 'Lemon Chase,' describing it as a deeply personal body of work that goes beyond being just a teaser for his upcoming album 'Uncle K.'
The seven-track project features collaborations with five-time Grammy winner Angelique Kidjo, Johnny Drille, Bella Shmurda, Odumodu Blvck, Zlatan, and Fola, showcasing a diverse range of musical talents.
Speaking about the EP, the Flyboi boss emphasized his commitment to authenticity in his music. "When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade out of it. I wanted this project to feel like real life; sweet, sour, confusing, beautiful. This is music for your heart, for when you're healing, or hoping, or remembering. I just wanted it to be honest, authentic and true to self," Kizz Daniel said.
The EP's lead single, 'Police,' which features Mavin's Johnny Drille and Angelique Kidjo, has already generated significant buzz in the music industry. Music critics are suggesting it could be a potential contender for the Best African Music Performance category at the next Grammy Awards.
'Lemon Chase' captures a range of emotions and experiences, from love and loss to peace and celebration, creating a relatable musical journey for listeners. The project represents Kizz Daniel's artistic evolution as he continues to expand his musical repertoire while staying true to his roots.
This release comes as Kizz Daniel has been increasingly vocal about authenticity in the music industry, previously encouraging colleagues to "stop chasing numbers" and focus on quality music.
