A horrifying discovery has sent shockwaves through Umuma Ndiagu community in Ezeagu Local Government Area of Enugu State, where residents uncovered what appears to be a ritual killing site operated by a local native doctor.
The native doctor, identified as Ezeani, also known as "Ichie Million," has reportedly fled after community members discovered soak-away pits filled with human remains on his property. According to local accounts, Ezeani allegedly kidnapped and buried his victims alive for ritual purposes.
The grim discovery came to light after Ezeani was allegedly caught attempting to kidnap a 13-year-old girl from the community. This incident prompted further investigation of his lavish compound, which housed exotic cars and an exquisite building.
Victim's Testimony
The young girl who narrowly escaped shared her harrowing experience in a viral video: "My father and I went to fetch firewood which we will use to fry our Garri. His men came and asked my dad for his cutlass, which he gave them. Suddenly they grabbed me and kept me in a pit they had dug. I then started crying before the neighborhood watch heard my cry and came to rescue me."
In another viral video, a community member described the horrific scene: "We have caught the killers. They kill people. People's dead bodies are full inside here. They have killed a lot of people. We just rescued a 13-year-old child who they wanted to use for rituals."
Accomplice Apprehended
Community members apprehended a man claiming to be a security guard hired by Ezeani. The suspect, who was stripped and bound, denied direct involvement in the killings but admitted visiting the native doctor for ritual purposes.
"I am a business person and I came here. After I finished performing some sacrifices, it remained for a water sacrifice to be performed for me," the suspect stated. "The owner of this place, Daddy Ezeani, asked me to protect this place and scare anyone coming here away."
The suspect also identified two other alleged accomplices as Okey from Oji River and someone named Chibuzor.
Community Response
Reports indicate that while Ezeani remains at large, his wives were apprehended by community members. In their outrage, local youths reportedly set fire to Ezeani's house and vehicles.
Social media investigations revealed that Ezeani had been seen publicly displaying wealth, including spraying bundles of cash at a wedding a few months ago.
Attempts to reach the Enugu State Police Command for comments on the matter were unsuccessful at the time of this report. It remains unclear how many victims may have been killed at the site or how long the alleged ritual activities had been ongoing.
