Super Eagles defender Bright Osayi-Samuel has emerged as a top transfer target for French Ligue 1 club Rennes ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Nigerian international is expected to leave Turkish Super Lig giants Fenerbahce this summer after failing to reach an agreement on a new contract with the Istanbul-based club.

According to reports, Rennes are actively seeking a replacement for Lorenz Assignon, who is set to join Bundesliga club Stuttgart. The French side has identified Osayi-Samuel as an ideal candidate due to his versatility, which has made him attractive to several European clubs.

The 26-year-old defender, who can operate effectively as a right-back or winger, has also caught the attention of Premier League club Crystal Palace, who are reportedly monitoring his situation closely.

Osayi-Samuel joined Fenerbahce from English Championship side Queens Park Rangers in 2021 and has since established himself as a key player for the Turkish club. His ability to play multiple positions has made him a valuable asset, both at club level and for the Nigerian national team.

With his contract situation unresolved, a summer move appears increasingly likely for the defender, with Rennes currently positioned as frontrunners for his signature.

The potential transfer would mark another significant move for a Nigerian international this summer, as several Super Eagles players continue to attract interest from clubs across Europe's top leagues.
