Former Abia State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, has publicly declared that he holds no grudges against anyone regarding the political events of 2023, emphasizing that he suffered no personal injuries during that period.

Ikpeazu made this statement during a significant meeting of political leaders and stakeholders from nine local governments of the Ukwa-La-Ngwa bloc at his residence in Umuobiakwa, Obingwa Local Government Area.

"I hold no grudge against anyone. There were no personal injuries done to me. What happened was a setback to our collective agenda of building a state where no one feels marginalized," the former governor stated while addressing the gathering.

The meeting took a significant turn when stakeholders from the Ukwa-La-Ngwa bloc called on Ikpeazu to assume a leadership role for their political bloc. In response, the former governor expressed deep gratitude for their solidarity and confirmed his acceptance of the leadership responsibility bestowed upon him.

Despite his conciliatory tone, Ikpeazu lamented that his people still feel marginalized under the current administration in Abia State. He promised to address these concerns in his new leadership capacity.

Earlier in the meeting, Don Ubani, a former Commissioner for Information in Abia State, had emphasized that leaders of Ukwa-La-Ngwa from various political affiliations unanimously recognized Ikpeazu as a capable leader for their bloc.

This development marks a significant political realignment in Abia State politics, with the Ukwa-La-Ngwa bloc, which comprises nine local government areas, consolidating under Ikpeazu's leadership.
