His Royal Highness, Alhaji Halilu Bala Usman, the Osu Ajiri of Udege Chiefdom and former Deputy Governor of the old Plateau State, has passed away on Sunday following a protracted illness.
According to family sources, the first-class traditional ruler's burial has been scheduled for today in Udege, Nasarawa Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, in accordance with Islamic rites.
The late monarch was widely respected for his leadership qualities and dedicated service to both his people and the state. His passing has plunged the entire Udege community and Nasarawa State into mourning.
Alhaji Usman leaves behind a significant legacy of community development and public service, having served as Deputy Governor during the old Plateau State era before the creation of Nasarawa State in 1996.
The traditional ruler's death marks the end of an era for the Udege Chiefdom, where he provided leadership and guidance as a first-class traditional ruler for many years.
