Barcelona has secured a place in Pot 1 for the 2025/2026 UEFA Champions League league phase draw for the second consecutive season, following Roma's failure to qualify on the final day of Serie A.

Roma, ranked ninth in European club performance over the past five seasons, missed out on Champions League qualification after Juventus clinched the fourth place in the Italian league. This development has benefited Barcelona, ranked tenth, allowing them to move up to the top-seeded pot.

The Champions League holders and the eight clubs with the best performance record in Europe over the past five seasons are allocated places in Pot 1. Premier League giants Chelsea and Manchester City will also feature in Pot 1, while Arsenal has been placed in Pot 2.

Notably, under the new Champions League format, teams in Pot 1 are not prevented from playing each other during the league phase.
