Nigerian singer Peter Okoye, popularly known as Mr P, has finally addressed the reasons behind the second split of the iconic music duo P-Square, urging fans to respect their decision to pursue separate careers.

In a recent interview with Cool FM Lagos, Peter explained that despite their efforts to maintain the group, their partnership was no longer sustainable.

"There's a joy that comes with going solo. Please respect our decisions. We've tried it, it's not working," he stated, suggesting that both brothers have found more fulfillment in their individual careers.

The latest separation marks the second time the twin brothers have parted ways professionally. P-Square initially split in 2016 after years of dominating the African music scene, only to reunite in 2021 to the delight of fans across the continent.

However, the reunion proved short-lived, with Paul Okoye (Rudeboy) confirming in August last year that the duo had broken up again, though details about the cause of the split were not disclosed at that time.

P-Square, formed in the early 2000s, is widely regarded as one of Africa's most successful music groups, with numerous hit songs and international collaborations to their credit. Their separation continues to generate significant reactions from fans who had hoped for a permanent reunion.

Both brothers have maintained active solo careers since their initial split, with Peter (Mr P) and Paul (Rudeboy) releasing individual projects and performing separately across Nigeria and beyond.
