The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has announced plans to deploy its corruption prevention tool, the Ethics and Integrity Compliance Scorecard (EICS), across Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) of the Federal Government.

This disclosure was made by Mr. Okoro J. Ulu, the ICPC Resident Anti-Corruption Commissioner (RACC) for Adamawa State, during a courtesy visit to the management of the Federal Medical Centre in Hong, Adamawa State.

According to Ulu, the Commission is intensifying efforts to curb corruption in government establishments and will soon begin administering the EICS in MDAs nationwide. He explained that the EICS serves as ICPC's annual assessment tool to evaluate MDAs on their adherence to ethics and integrity requirements.

"The EICS is designed to promote a culture of ethical values and compliance to identify loopholes that aid corruption in MDAs so that actions can be taken to minimize them," Ulu stated.

The anti-corruption commissioner sought the cooperation of the Federal Medical Centre and encouraged the organization to support the constitution of an Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit (ACTU) within the facility.

"The Commission came for the purpose of partnering with you to reduce incidences of corruption in the facility and to encourage you to constitute ACTU in the Hospital," he added.

In response, Professor Yakub Wilbeforce Nyandati, the Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the Federal Medical Centre, expressed gratitude to the RACC and his team. He promised to commence work on the constitution of ACTU in the hospital and affirmed that the centre was ready for both the EICS and system study and review exercise.

The ICPC's initiative comes as part of broader efforts by the federal government to strengthen anti-corruption measures and promote transparency in public institutions across Nigeria.
