The Asiwaju Political Movement (APM), a group within the All Progressives Congress (APC), has declared that President Bola Tinubu's endorsement as the party's sole candidate for the 2027 general elections comes as no surprise given his performance in office.

This statement follows Thursday's announcement by both the Progressives Governors' Forum and APC members of the National Assembly unanimously endorsing Tinubu to run unopposed in the next presidential election.

Hon. Madiba Monday Ledum, Director-General of APM, described the endorsement as a "bold confirmation of President Tinubu's visionary leadership, transformative governance, and unwavering commitment to the progress of Nigeria."

"This resounding show of support by the APC leadership is not just an endorsement— it is a testament to the renewed confidence in President Tinubu's capacity to lead Nigeria into a more prosperous future," Ledum stated in a press release issued on Friday.

According to the APM, Tinubu's two years in office have been marked by "critical reforms, infrastructure revival, and bold economic decisions that will shape our nation for generations."

The group commended the unity demonstrated by APC leaders nationwide, interpreting it as a sign of strength and cohesion ahead of the 2027 elections. Ledum urged Nigerians to rally behind the president, stating that "President Tinubu has a clear roadmap for national development. We must all join hands to ensure this vision is fulfilled."

The endorsement by key APC stakeholders reflects growing support within the ruling party for Tinubu to continue beyond his current term, with party leaders citing his administration's achievements as justification for backing him as their sole candidate.
