Kada Warriors head coach, Danlami Kwasau Umar, has attributed his team's Nigeria National League (NNL) relegation survival to the unwavering commitment demonstrated by both himself and his players throughout the season.

The Kaduna-based club secured their NNL status on the final day of the regular season with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Adamawa United, finishing sixth in Group D with 15 points from 12 matches.

"Since the day I took over at the club, the commitment from me and the players has been top notch," Umar told the club's media. "We knew that we had to do everything to survive which we eventually did. As it is, the team is already taking shape and it's a work in progress."

Looking ahead to next season, the coach expressed optimism about the team's prospects, highlighting the difference between fighting relegation and pushing for promotion.

"It's a different thing when you're trying to survive and when you're playing for promotion. With this experience, we will restart and see how we can get it done next season," he added.

The Nigeria National League, the country's second-tier football competition, has seen notable improvements in recent times, with football legends Nwankwo Kanu and Victor Ikpeba reportedly praising the development of the league.

Kada Warriors will now use the off-season to regroup and strengthen their squad as they aim to compete for promotion in the upcoming 2025/2026 NNL season.
