Jigawa State Governor Umar Namadi has boldly predicted the imminent decline of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, asserting that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) is poised to recapture all three National Assembly seats currently under PDP control.

The governor made this declaration during the "Government's Citizen Engagement" (Gwamnati Da Jama'a) event in Dutse Local Government Area, where he emphasized how APC-led development initiatives at both state and federal levels have positively impacted the social and economic wellbeing of Jigawa residents.

"The people of Jigawa Central Senatorial Zone, Buji/Birnin Kudu Federal Constituency, and Dutse/Kiyawa Constituency have expressed their disappointment in the PDP lawmakers representing them, describing their tenure as a total failure," Governor Namadi stated. "These constituencies have vowed to vote them out and end PDP's presence in the zone and the state by 2027."

According to the governor, citizens in the Central Senatorial Zone have come to regret their decision to elect PDP candidates in the 2023 elections. He attributed the growing support for APC to the party's performance-driven governance approach.

"Our performance is our yardstick, and the people of Jigawa are measuring us and our great party by the results we deliver. We are pleased to be gaining more ground and confidence day by day through our sincere commitment to the wellbeing of our citizens," Namadi added.

The governor expressed gratitude to the people of Dutse for their continued loyalty and cooperation while reaffirming his administration's commitment to inclusive development and citizen-focused governance.

During the event, Namadi also conveyed assurances from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu regarding several key infrastructure projects in Jigawa State. These include the completion of the Greater Dutse water project, ongoing progress on the Maradi-Dutse railway line, and the re-award and continuation of the Kano-Maiduguri highway project.

Political analysts view these developments as significant in the buildup to the 2027 general elections, with the APC seemingly consolidating its position in Jigawa State while the opposition PDP faces growing challenges to maintain its relevance in the state's political landscape.
