Controversial northern politician, Hajiya Naja'atu Mohammed, has launched a scathing criticism against President Bola Tinubu's administration, accusing it of being "all about Yorubas" and neglecting other regions of Nigeria.
Speaking during the maiden episode of the Political Advantage Platform (PAP) podcast hosted by Hadiza Malumfashi, Mohammed alleged that Tinubu is utilizing national resources primarily for the development of the South-West region, where he hails from.
"I have nothing personal against Tinubu, but it is clear that everything in his government is about Yorubas for Yorubas and by Yorubas," Mohammed stated. "Tinubu is using the national resources to develop his region."
The former member of Tinubu's presidential campaign team questioned the direction of national unity under the current administration, asking, "Are we trying to 'vulcanize' the country into ethnic fiefdoms?"
Mohammed further criticized the administration's economic policies, attributing the current hardship faced by Nigerians to what she described as the government's refusal to listen to citizens' concerns. "When a government ignores the voices of its people and listens only to external bodies, the result is a broken economy and suffering citizens," she remarked.
The northern politician also highlighted the issue of insecurity, stating that development would continue to elude Nigeria if security challenges remain unresolved. She expressed disappointment in Tinubu's administration, noting that Nigerians had high expectations due to his "so-called experience" as a former governor of Lagos State.
Mohammed's comments come amid growing debates about regional balance in appointments and resource allocation under the current administration. The presidency has not yet responded to these allegations at the time of this report.
