Arsenal midfielder Jorginho is set to join Brazilian club Flamengo and will participate in the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup with his new team, according to renowned football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

The 33-year-old Italian international has reportedly received the green light from Arsenal to make the move to South America when his contract expires at the end of the current season.

Jorginho will sign a three-year contract with Flamengo that will keep him at the Brazilian club until 2028. He will join as a free agent after his time with the Gunners comes to an end.

The midfielder has had an illustrious career in European football, having joined Chelsea from Italian side Napoli in 2018. After five successful years at Stamford Bridge, he made the switch to Arsenal in 2023. His previous clubs also include Hellas Verona in Italy.

The FIFA Club World Cup, which Jorginho will participate in as a Flamengo player, is scheduled to begin on June 14 and conclude on July 13, 2025. This tournament brings together champion clubs from different continental confederations.

This move represents a new chapter in Jorginho's career as he prepares to experience South American club football for the first time after establishing himself as one of Europe's most reliable midfielders over the past decade.
