Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer has urged Jack Grealish to leave Manchester City this summer, claiming the midfielder's time at the Etihad Stadium has come to an end.

Speaking on the Rest in Football podcast, Shearer delivered a blunt assessment of Grealish's situation following Manchester City's recent FA Cup final defeat to Crystal Palace.

"His time's up at Man City. He has to leave," Shearer stated emphatically. "For [Guardiola] to bring on a debutant, a young boy, and Gundogan when they are desperate for a goal rather than Jack Grealish, his time is up."

Grealish, 29, was notably left as an unused substitute during the FA Cup final as City suffered a surprising defeat to Crystal Palace at Wembley Stadium over the weekend.

Shearer continued his assessment with even more direct language: "He is done at Man City, he has to leave [and] for whatever reason, Pep's done with him. He doesn't like him. His time's up."

The English midfielder joined Manchester City from Aston Villa in 2021 in a high-profile transfer. Despite being part of City's successful campaigns in recent years, Grealish has struggled to secure a regular starting position in Guardiola's squad this season.

The FA Cup final defeat marks another disappointment for Manchester City, with Crystal Palace's victory earning them a spot in the Europa League for the upcoming season.

With the summer transfer window approaching, speculation about Grealish's future at Manchester City will likely intensify following Shearer's comments and his recent lack of playing time under Guardiola.
