Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard has identified five Premier League clubs he believes will challenge the Reds for the title in the upcoming 2025/26 season.
Liverpool claimed their 20th English top-flight league title last season under Arne Slot, finishing an impressive 10 points ahead of second-placed Arsenal.
Speaking to TNT Sports, Gerrard predicted that Liverpool will face stiff competition from Chelsea, Aston Villa, Manchester City, Arsenal, and Newcastle United in their title defense.
"Liverpool will be well aware that Man City are going to come back [next season], Arsenal are looking stronger again, Chelsea are building nicely, Newcastle, Aston Villa are coming in behind," Gerrard stated.
The former Liverpool captain, who never won the Premier League during his illustrious 17-year career at Anfield, added: "Liverpool will be well aware that they are going to be the ones that are hunted now."
Liverpool's Dominant Season
Liverpool's title triumph last season marked a significant achievement for new manager Arne Slot, who successfully guided the team to glory in his debut campaign after taking over from Jürgen Klopp.
The Reds' 10-point margin over Arsenal demonstrated their dominance throughout the season, setting a high benchmark for competitors to reach in the upcoming campaign.
With the 2025/26 season approaching, all eyes will be on how Liverpool's rivals strengthen their squads during the transfer window as they prepare to mount serious challenges for the Premier League crown.
