Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard has named Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola as the best football manager in the world, warning Premier League teams to remain wary of the Spaniard despite City's disappointing third-place finish last season.

Speaking to TNT Sports, Gerrard emphasized the threat that Guardiola's side still poses to title contenders. "I think you have got to be wary of Man City and Guardiola, who is the best manager in the world," the former England midfielder stated.

Manchester City, who had previously won four consecutive Premier League titles, finished behind Arsenal and champions Liverpool last season. Gerrard attributed part of their struggles to the absence of key midfielder Rodri.

"They have done it four years on the spin, they lost Rodri, which was a big blow to them," Gerrard explained. "I think with a fully fit squad, and they are going to recruit as well, the team that finishes above City will win it again and hopefully, that's Liverpool."

Guardiola's Impressive Legacy

Guardiola joined Manchester City in 2016 after a successful stint with German giants Bayern Munich. During his tenure at the Etihad Stadium, the Catalan tactician has built an impressive trophy cabinet, including multiple Premier League titles and the coveted Champions League.

His tactical innovations and ability to consistently reinvent his teams have earned him widespread acclaim in the football world, with many considering him among the greatest managers of all time.

Despite City's relative underperformance last season, Gerrard's comments suggest he believes Guardiola's side remains the benchmark against which other Premier League title aspirants should measure themselves.

With the summer transfer window approaching and City expected to strengthen their squad, Premier League rivals will be watching closely to see how Guardiola plans to reclaim the title in the upcoming season.
