A Magistrate Court in Ogudu, Lagos State has ordered the remand of Ifeanyi Kelvin Udoka, a 22-year-old security guard, for allegedly raping a four-year-old girl at a school in Ikosi-Ketu area of Lagos.

Presiding Magistrate S.K. Matepo directed that Udoka be held at the Ikoyi Correctional Centre pending legal advice from the Lagos State Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP). The case has been adjourned to June 25 for further proceedings.

According to court documents, Udoka was arraigned on Monday by the Lagos State Police Command on charges of defilement. The charge sheet stated: "That you, Ifeanyi Kelvin Udoka 'M', sometimes in May, 2025, at King Heritage School Ikosi Ketu in the Ikeja Magisterial district did defile one (name withheld) 'F', age 4 years old, by having canal knowledge of her and thereby committed an offence punishable under section 137 of the criminal law of Lagos State 2015."

Sources close to the investigation revealed that the incident came to light when the child's grandmother noticed unusual behavior after the girl returned from school. The child reportedly began urinating on herself uncontrollably during the day. When questioned, the minor told her grandmother that the security guard at the school had touched her inappropriately.

The case is being prosecuted by the Ketu police station. Child rights advocates have continued to call for stronger measures to protect children in schools and other environments where they should be safe from predators.

If found guilty, Udoka faces severe penalties under Lagos State law, which imposes strict punishments for sexual offenses against minors.
