Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago has pledged his full support for Dr. Mustapha Jibrin, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Chanchaga Local Government Council in the forthcoming local government elections.

The governor made this commitment during a courtesy visit by Dr. Jibrin and his team to the liaison office in Abuja, where he congratulated the APC flag bearer on his emergence as the party's consensus candidate.

Governor Bago described Jibrin's selection as a testament to his commitment and perseverance, while acknowledging the significant challenges facing Chanchaga Local Government, including security issues, social problems, and sanitation concerns.

"I have confidence in Dr. Jibrin's ability to address these challenges," the governor stated, advising the candidate to develop innovative solutions that would enable him to hit the ground running upon election.

In his response, Dr. Jibrin expressed gratitude to the governor for his leadership and support in his selection as the APC consensus candidate. He pledged to promote unity and complement the governor's development efforts if elected.

"No petitions were filed against me since my selection, indicating widespread acceptance," Dr. Jibrin noted, highlighting his efforts to build peace and unity within the party and among stakeholders in Chanchaga Local Government.

Also present at the meeting was Hadi Garkuwa Saidu, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Special Duties, who commended Governor Bago's efforts in improving the state and reaffirmed their commitment to supporting his administration.

The forthcoming local government elections in Niger State are expected to be a significant test for the ruling APC as they seek to maintain control at the grassroots level of governance.
