The Niger State Government has approved the sum of ₦1.317 billion for the production of 23,400 chairs for public schools across the state, aimed at creating a more conducive learning and teaching environment.

Hajiya Binta Mamman, Commissioner for Information and Strategy, disclosed this during a press briefing in Minna. She explained that each chair will come with an attached locker, providing students with a secure space to store their belongings.

"The distribution of these chairs is expected to enhance the overall educational experience for students in public schools," Mamman stated, highlighting the government's commitment to improving educational infrastructure across the state.

In a related development, the Commissioner announced that Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago has reappointed Mr. Jonathan Vatsa as Special Adviser on Media and Publicity. She noted that Vatsa, who previously served as Commissioner for Information, is expected to bring valuable expertise to his new role.

Mamman further emphasized the state government's dedication to citizens' welfare and good governance, while highlighting positive outcomes from various initiatives launched by the current administration.

The Commissioner also urged citizens to be cautious of false narratives and misinformation, encouraging them to seek clarification through official channels whenever necessary.
