The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has issued a public alert to residents of Abuja and Lagos regarding ongoing aerial display rehearsals taking place in both cities as part of preparations for its upcoming 61st Anniversary Celebration.

In a statement released on Monday in Abuja, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, Director of Public Relations and Information for NAF, explained that the aerial manoeuvres are being conducted ahead of the grand finale scheduled for May 23, 2025.

"These aerial manoeuvres are designed to enhance the spectacle of the celebration's grand finale and to demonstrate the professionalism and operational capabilities of the NAF," Ejodame stated.

The Air Force has assured the public that there is no cause for alarm, emphasizing that the rehearsals are being conducted with strict adherence to safety standards. Residents of both cities are advised to continue with their normal daily activities without panic.

"Residents are kindly advised not to panic but to go about their normal activities, as the rehearsals are carefully planned and executed with strict adherence to safety standards," the statement read.

The NAF expressed appreciation for the public's understanding and continued support as they prepare for this significant milestone in the organization's history.

The 61st Anniversary Celebration represents an important occasion for the Nigerian Air Force to showcase its growth, capabilities, and contributions to national security over the past six decades.
