The Abia State Tricycle Operators Union (ASTOPU), Aba Zone, has launched a search for Mr. Emmanuel Obodoezie, a tricycle operator who demonstrated remarkable honesty by returning N2.04 million forgotten by a passenger in his vehicle.

According to a statement signed by Victor Azubuike, Chairman of ASTOPU Aba Zone, Obodoezie returned the substantial sum to Mrs. Chika Aloysius-Iwu, a trader at Ariaria International Market, after she alighted from his tricycle around the Free Zone area.

"Despite facing the harsh economic realities of Nigeria's present situation, he chose the path of righteousness," Azubuike stated, describing Obodoezie's action as "a shining hope and moral strength in the society."

In recognition of this exemplary conduct, ASTOPU Aba Zone plans to formally reward and honor Mr. Obodoezie. The union has issued a public appeal for the tricycle operator or anyone with information about his whereabouts to visit their office at Azikiwe Road, Aba, on or before Saturday, May 17, 2025.

"ASTOPU will not rest until he is found and duly celebrated," the statement emphasized, underscoring the union's commitment to recognizing and promoting integrity among its members.

This act of honesty comes at a time when many Nigerians are struggling with economic hardships, making Obodoezie's decision to return such a large sum particularly noteworthy and commendable.
