Former Lagos State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, Abdul-Azeez Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, has publicly declared his commitment to ensuring President Bola Tinubu wins a second term in office.
Speaking at a rally in the Ojo area of Lagos State on Friday, Jandor told his supporters that Tinubu will reposition Nigeria if he decides to contest for a second term in 2027, which he believes the President will win.
"We are going to do everything humanly possible to make sure we work for his re-election. Our priority is to ensure that we see to how this man will return in 2027 to further reposition the country," Jandor stated.
The rally marked Jandor's public declaration of his return to the All Progressives Congress (APC), following his resignation from the PDP on March 3. He cited the results from Tinubu's administration as the reason for his return to the ruling party.
According to Jandor, Tinubu's decision to remove fuel subsidy demonstrates his selflessness as a leader. "Removal of fuel subsidy makes Tinubu a selfless President because he would have ordinarily allowed the status quo to remain to secure second term in office," he explained.
The former PDP gubernatorial candidate expressed confidence that Tinubu's reelection is unstoppable due to what he described as "people-oriented reforms" and recent defections into the APC.
Jandor's defection and subsequent endorsement of President Tinubu adds to the growing list of opposition figures who have recently switched allegiance to the ruling party, potentially strengthening APC's position ahead of the 2027 general elections.
