Former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode has expressed deep outrage over disturbing reports that terrorists in Zamfara State fed newborn twins to dogs, describing it as a "callous crime against humanity."
The incident was first revealed by Aminu Jaji, a member of the House of Representatives, who on Wednesday disclosed that the security crisis in Zamfara has deteriorated to horrifying levels. According to the lawmaker, terrorists abducted a pregnant woman who later gave birth to twins while in captivity.
"The leader of the terrorists group took the babies and threw them at their dog. The dogs ate them up, one after the other," Jaji recounted.
In a statement posted on his X handle on Friday, Fani-Kayode lamented: "Can there be a more callous crime against humanity than this? Can there be a more explicit display of man's inhumanity to man? Can there be a more bestial act of savagery and barbarity? O Lord behold our tears, arise to our nations defence and rid us of this evil."
The former minister called for decisive action against the insurgents, stating that Nigeria "must eliminate these feral psychopaths and send them back to hell. We must rid our land of this godless horde."
He expressed confidence that with "strength and courage we SHALL prevail. They will NEVER break our spirit! We shall NEVER bend the knee to them!"
This incident highlights the escalating security challenges in northern Nigeria, particularly in Zamfara State, where terrorist groups have continued to carry out attacks on communities, abductions, and other atrocities despite government efforts to contain the situation.
Security experts have repeatedly called for a comprehensive approach to addressing the insurgency, including improved intelligence gathering, community engagement, and addressing underlying socioeconomic factors that contribute to insecurity in the region.
