One person has died and two others sustained injuries in a multiple-vehicle crash that occurred early Monday morning along the Tradefair–Agbara corridor in Lagos State.
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Lagos Sector Command, confirmed the incident through a statement issued by Sector Commander Mr. Kehinde Hamzat. According to the statement, the accident took place at approximately 5:36 am near Iyana Era Bus Stop.
"The unfortunate crash involved two vehicles; a blue Mack truck with registration number AKD 579 XM (commercial), and a silver Lexus saloon car with registration number LSR 545 JN (private)," Hamzat stated.
The FRSC official confirmed that five adult males were involved in the incident. Preliminary investigations revealed that the crash resulted from speed violation and loss of control, despite the road being in good condition.
"The violent impact of the crash led to the death of one male adult, while two others sustained varying degrees of injuries," the statement further explained.
Hamzat noted that the FRSC emergency response team arrived at the scene within four minutes of receiving the report and promptly took control of the situation. The injured victims were quickly transported to Alimosho General Hospital for urgent medical attention.
The Sector Commander extended his condolences to the family of the deceased and wished the injured victims a speedy recovery. He reaffirmed the FRSC's commitment to ensuring safer roads and urged motorists to avoid speeding and remain fully attentive while driving.
This incident adds to the growing concerns about road safety along Lagos highways, where commercial vehicles and private cars often share congested routes during early morning commutes.
