Former Liverpool star Stan Collymore has predicted that Tottenham Hotspur will emerge victorious against Manchester United in the upcoming UEFA Europa League final.

The highly anticipated all-English final is scheduled to take place at San Mamés Stadium in Bilbao on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, with kick-off set for 8 p.m.

Manchester United secured their place in the final after eliminating Athletic Club in the semi-finals, while Tottenham Hotspur advanced by knocking out Norwegian side Bodø/Glimt.

Speaking to CaughtOffside, Collymore expressed his belief that the match could be a high-scoring affair that might require extra time to determine a winner.

"I can see both finals going to extra time. In the Europa League, I could very easily see it ending 2-2 or 3-3 after 90 minutes because there is so much uncertainty surrounding how Tottenham and Man United will perform in Bilbao," Collymore stated.

The former Premier League striker ultimately backed Spurs to lift the trophy, citing their recent dominance over the Red Devils as a deciding factor.

"It could very much be a toss of a coin for who win – but if I stick my neck out, I think Tottenham will take it because they have got the better of Man United in the previous three meetings this season," he added.

Indeed, Tottenham have won all three encounters against Manchester United during the 2024/25 season, giving them a psychological edge heading into this crucial European showdown.

The Europa League final represents a significant opportunity for both clubs to secure silverware and guarantee European football for next season, with the winner automatically qualifying for the UEFA Champions League.
