Nigerian singer Babalola Oluwagbemiga Gabriel, popularly known as Bigiano, has revealed that his biggest career regret was declining an opportunity to join the legendary Mo'Hits Records at the height of his fame.

Speaking during a recent episode of the 'One One' podcast, Bigiano disclosed that Don Jazzy, co-founder of the influential record label, had personally extended an invitation for him to join Mo'Hits when his hit song 'Shayo' was making waves across Nigeria.

"This is going to make me teary, but I dare not," Bigiano recounted. "When 'Shayo' was at its prime, my friend D'banj introduced me and handed me over to Sunday Are. That should be 2010."

The singer explained that he was taken to the Mo'Hits mansion by Bankuli, where he met with industry heavyweights including D'banj, Don Jazzy, Sunday Are, and Wande Coal. During this meeting, Don Jazzy asked if he wanted to join the record label.

"Instead of me saying 'yes,' the little mind that feels he has arrived as an independent artist with hit songs said 'No,'" Bigiano admitted with evident regret. "If I had accepted the offer, that would have been a big turnaround for my career because the Mo'Hits crew were very supportive. I regretted the decision."

Mo'Hits Records, founded by Don Jazzy and D'banj in 2004, was one of Nigeria's most successful music labels before its dissolution in 2012. The label was home to several successful artists including Wande Coal, Dr SID, D'Prince, and K-Switch.

Bigiano rose to prominence in 2009 with his hit single 'Shayo,' which dominated airwaves and dance floors across Nigeria. However, the singer struggled to maintain the same level of success with subsequent releases.

His revelation highlights the importance of strategic career decisions in the music industry and serves as a reminder of how pivotal moments can significantly alter an artist's trajectory.
