Nigerian international Ademola Lookman has been nominated for the Serie A Player of the Month award for May, following his recent performances for Atalanta.

The 27-year-old forward is competing against five other players for the prestigious individual accolade. His competitors include Riccardo Orsoloni (Bologna), Khenphren Thuram (Juventus), Scott McTominay (Napoli), Manu Kone (AS Roma), and Santiago Gimenez (AC Milan).

Lookman's nomination comes after he ended his six-game goal drought by scoring in Atalanta's 2-1 victory over AS Roma on Monday. The goal marked an important contribution to his team's success this month.

The Nigerian attacker has been in impressive form throughout the season, accumulating 20 goal contributions in 30 league appearances. His tally includes 15 goals and five assists, highlighting his significance to Atalanta's campaign.

Lookman's consistent performances have not only earned him recognition in Italy but have also attracted attention from Premier League clubs, with reports suggesting Arsenal have added him to their summer transfer shortlist.

This nomination adds to Lookman's growing list of accolades this season, having previously been included in the Serie A Team of the Season, further cementing his status as one of the standout performers in Italian football.

The winner of the Serie A Player of the Month award for May will be announced in the coming weeks as the Italian league season draws to a close.
