The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that approximately 6.85 million Nigerians have successfully completed their pre-online registration in the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise as of October 5, 2025.
According to the Commission's week six update published on Tuesday, female registrants constitute the majority with 3.58 million (52.23 percent) of the total figure, while male registrants account for 3.27 million (47.77 percent).
The data reveals a significant youth participation rate, with 4,689,637 of the pre-online registrations coming from Nigerians between the ages of 18 and 34. Students make up 1,728,384 of the registrants, while 154,479 are Persons Living with Disabilities (PWDs).
Physical Registration Progress
INEC further disclosed that 1,216,048 Nigerians have completed their physical registration as of October 5. This figure comprises 658,766 individuals who finalized their registration after initial online pre-registration and 557,282 who registered exclusively through the physical process.
The gender distribution for completed registrations shows females leading with 675,222 registrants (55.53 percent), compared to 540,826 males (44.47 percent).
Youth participation remains dominant in the physical registration phase as well, with individuals aged 18 to 34 accounting for 897,676 of the completed registrations. Students continue to represent a significant demographic with 424,126 completed registrations in Week 6.
The Commission also confirmed that 17,450 Persons Living with Disabilities successfully completed their registration during the period under review.
The Continuous Voter Registration exercise is part of INEC's efforts to ensure eligible Nigerians are registered to vote in upcoming elections, providing both online pre-registration and physical registration options to accommodate different preferences and needs.
