Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for the upcoming November 8, 2025 election in Anambra State, has announced a cash reward of N2 million for the ward that records the highest number of registered voters during the ongoing Continuous Voters Registration (CVR) exercise.
The announcement comes as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officially commenced the CVR exercise in Anambra State ahead of the gubernatorial election. Eligible voters have until July 17, 2025, to obtain their voter cards, while those seeking to replace lost cards are advised to validate them online.
Speaking during his ongoing "thank you" tour to APC members at Ogidi, Ukachukwu urged all eligible voters across the 326 wards in the state to participate in the registration exercise. The candidate addressed a large crowd gathered at Nkwo Ogidi market and St. Mark's Ojoto, expressing concern over the deteriorating security situation and general environment across the state.
"I am unimpressed with the high level of deterioration of the general environment and insecurity across the state," Ukachukwu stated. He promised to address these issues if elected, with a focus on eliminating kidnappings, killings, and other anti-social behaviors to create an enabling environment for positive transformation.
Senator Uche Ekwunife, Ukachukwu's running mate, called on voters to use their votes to unseat the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) administration led by Prof. Chukwuma Soludo. "APC will take over power come November 8, 2025," she declared confidently.
The event saw strong support from key APC stakeholders in the region, including the Anambra State Chairman of APC, Chief Basil Ejidike; the Woman Leader, Mrs. Maria Ejielo; Idemili North LGA Chairman, Chief Charles Obadike; and former South East Youth Leader of APC, Chief Olisaemeka Onyeka. All pledged their total support for the Ukachukwu-Ekwunife ticket in the upcoming election.
INEC has clarified that the current CVR exercise is specifically for the Anambra governorship election and not for by-elections in other parts of the country.
