Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has described the newly formed African Democratic Congress (ADC)-led coalition as a "journey to nowhere," dismissing it as hollow and doomed from the outset.

Speaking to Arise News, Keyamo, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), characterized the ADC coalition as "nothing more than a gathering of spent political forces with no real electoral value" ahead of the 2027 elections.

"We are not resting our oars, so let me say that very clearly," Keyamo stated. "Any politician who says that he sees an opponent and he is laughing and beating his chest is a foolish politician."

The minister, however, did not hold back in his criticism of the opposition coalition. "Let me tell you that the ADC is in total tatters and they are on a journey to nowhere," he said.

Keyamo further explained his perspective on the coalition's composition: "The ADC as it is today is a collection of individuals who have left largely the PDP. And in leaving the PDP, they are not people who are still holding sway in PDP. They are not present people who are in power, who can influence a lot of votes. So you now have a lot of ex-this and ex-that."

In a direct jab at former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Keyamo added, "If there are people who are retired, Atiku eventually went to wake them up from retirement to say, please come and give me a semblance of a coalition."

The minister assured that the APC remains "very alert and focused on delivering the dividends of democratic governance to Nigerians" despite the formation of the new coalition.

This development comes as political parties begin positioning themselves for the 2027 general elections, with various realignments and coalition-building efforts underway across Nigeria's political landscape.
